Call in for a cuppa and shake up your motorbike skills

A popular motorcycle cafe will host a road safety event in Oxfordshire on Saturday.

Between 10am and 4pm on Saturday (19/9), experienced Thames Valley Police motorcyclists Sgt Jack Hawkins and PC Andy Shaw will be at H’s Cafe (formerly Fox’s Diner) on the A4074 at Berinsfield, near Wallingford.

Along with Sgt Nick Perks, they will be bringing the Thames Valley Police road safety trailer and chatting about how to improve motorcycling skills.

Officers from Oxfordshire Fire Service and Oxfordshire County Council will also be on hand to offer advice and talk about road safety.

In addition, anyone attending will be able to view a new unmarked Honda CB1000R, a Thames Valley Police marked BMW motorcycle and a marked car.

Sgt Perks said:

“We are grateful to the owners of H’s Café for giving us this opportunity to meet up with motorcyclists.

“The idea of the event is for us to chat to bikers in Thames Valley so we can understand their concerns and, where possible, try and address them.

“Sgt Hawkins and PC Shaw we will also be offering some useful tips on riding more skilfully and safely.

“After all, motorcycling is about having fun, but in order to do that, safety must come first.”
