One village, one night. 8,000 bikers.

Attendees at one of Oxfordshire’s biggest bikers events will be offered the chance to have their bikes given the once over by experts from Thames Valley Police tonight (28/6).

Four police officers along with Oxfordshire County Council’s road safety team and two police vehicle examiners will be among the 8,000 motorcycle enthusiasts attending the Cassington Bike Night.

They will be chatting to bikers about riding safely, equipment and offering them the chance to get their motorcycle equipment checked out

Motorcycle officer PC Steve Jenkins said: “We are really looking forward to it. We are not there to do any enforcement, but to take part in the event itself.

“By 7pm the village will be rammed with loads of bikes and we’ll be right in the middle of it.

“We’ll be trying to chat to people from all the biker communities about road safety and watching the bikes go past.

“Traffic will be busy, but we expect no trouble whatsoever.”
